Title: Mumps-Associated Bilateral Retinitis
Description: A 27-year-old male patient who was unvaccinated for mumps presented with rapidly progressive vision loss in both eyes following a febrile illness with parotid gland swelling. On examination, visual acuity was counting fingers close to the face in both eyes. Fundus examination revealed gyrate-shaped cerebriform retinitis lesions. Elevated serum IgG and IgM levels confirmed recent mumps infection. The patient was treated with topical prednisolone acetate eye drops, oral prednisolone, oral valacyclovir, oral doxycycline, and daily HBOT for 30 days. Despite the rapid resolution of retinitis lesions within two days following HBOT, visual acuity did not improve due to preexisting foveal atrophy
