Title: Reduction of bullous component of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment after migration of gas from subretinal space into vitreous cavity following supine position.
Description: A 65-year-old male underwent left eye PPV+SFIOL before 4 weeks. 14% C3F8 gas tamponade was used following cryopexy to an iatrogenic superior retinal tear. He presented with the blurring of vision in the same eye for 1 week. Ultra-widefield fundus image(UWF-I) of the left eye showed subtotal bullous retinal detachment (RRD, white arrowhead) associated with superior retinal dialysis and subretinal fish egg C3F8 gas bubbles (white arrow) (Figure A). Following the supine position, repeat UWF-I showed migration of subretinal C3F8 gas bubbles in the vitreous cavity associated with the reduction of the superior bullous component of RRD(Figure B). Serial UWF imaging helped in documenting this free migration of C3F8 gas bubbles and subsequently led to a change in the configuration of RRD.
