“VRSI 2016”
It is a matter of great pride that the silver jubilee conference of VRSI is being hosted at Chandigarh by Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in the 25th year of its inception, in association with Advanced Eye Center, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (AEC, PGIMER). One day preconference symposium is being organized at Moksha, Timber Trail in the lap of Himalayas. Chandigarh is the first planned city of India and serves as capital to states of Punjab and Haryana. It symbolizes modern India and is rightly called the ‘City Beautiful’. Chandigarh offers great connectivity to New Delhi and other parts of the world through air, rail and road. The City Beautiful is gateway to the great Himalayas and is a clean and green city. Wide roads, big round-abouts and parks of Chandigarh add to the beauty of the city. Mornings are enjoyable in the serene atmosphere of Sukhna Lake which is famous for its long walkways and migratory birds. The city is known for its world famous Rock Garden with mesmerizing water bodies, water falls and sculptures made of discarded and waste material.
‘Open hand’, the official emblem of Chandigarh, signifies the city’s credo of ‘open to give and open to receive’. Chandigarh is balanced amalgamation of modernization and ethnicity. One cannot ignore the fragrance of Punjab in the culture of the city. We shall not leave any stone unturned in our hospitality to make your stay comfortable and memorable. We promise you an academic feast with several international societies participating to make this mega event a great success. The scientific committee is striving hard to make the academic programme comprehensive and interesting which would be covering major breakthroughs and developments in the field of vitreo-retinal diseases. We endeavor to take VRSI to new heights with this silver jubilee conference.
